Tapes and Summer Heat

Tape Heat BoxDid you know that exposure to heat, humidity, and/or sunlight can have a major impact on how adhesive tape performs?

Most manufacturers recommend tape storage temperatures between 40 - 70 degrees F, and humidity ranges of 40% - 60%.   Long term storage outside of these ranges could quickly reduce the shelf life and performance properties of the tape.

Storage of tape should be at ground level, not high up on warehouse racks. We suggest storing tape products away from areas exposed to direct sunlight, like skylights.

Also keep tape away from extremely hot zones like exterior walls, dock doors, and warehouse heaters. Proper storage of tape products during the hot summer months will prolong their shelf life!
