Electrical - Tools/Components/Measurement (Megger)

Repetitive Tape Tabbing Application – The customer was focused on creating and keeping entry level fulfillment positions. Each employee would tab 500+ boxes closed per day, using a piece of Kraft paper carton sealing tape being manually pulled and tore from a table top dispenser. They wanted to improve efficiency and more closely monitor their tape usage.

Plustar examined all the components of the application that will need to be altered to reach the customers goal. 1) Need a way to get more boxes tabbed per day. 2) Need a controlled amount of tape per box to monitor usage 3) Wanted a way to get the tape on the boxes straight and aesthetically pleasing to their customer. From here, Plustar made suggestions to the customer that would accomplish these without compromising any jobs.

The Solution:

Supplied the company with multiple automatic tape dispensing machines that were suitable for their application and fit within their budget. These machines more rapidly provide a premeasured, perfectly cut piece of paper tape that is ergonomically presented to the applicator for straight on application every time. No jobs were lost, while efficiency and output saw an immediate improvement of more than 15%!

The automatic tape dispensing machines recommended by Plustar have worked wonders for our business. It makes the day easier on my employees, more boxes get done in a shift, and I have seen minimal wasted tape.

Consumer Electronics (Teleplan)

Protective Film Substitute – The customer was spending $12,100 annually on 3M protective film for covering refurbished LCD screens. They needed to find a cost reductive substitute, without compromising any product performance.

Plustar used their relationships with all the major manufacturers in the industry to give the customer options on various equivalent products. The capabilities in Plustar’s production department enabled the customer to get rolls of product that would be custom slit down to the specific length and width the customer required for their application.

The Solution:

Found an equivalent protective film from another manufacturer that the customer liked even better than their original. Plustar now custom slits and stocks this film specifically for this customer to ensure they always receive an uninterrupted supply of product. They are now set to save 19%, ($2,300+) annually on this product!
